We're in the middle of renovating the kitchen, and we made a little discovery when we opened up the walls: a variety of wallpapers all in this one room.

vermont salvage Vermont Salvage

Halfway between Arlingon, Mass and St.Albans, VT is one of the larger salvage yards we've been to: Vermont Salvage. On this day we were looking for a bathroom door.

holes Deck construction: Footings

The first step in building a deck is digging the holes and pouring the footings. As we found out, it's also the hardest.

Our new house is located at 28 Clark Street, two blocks from Mass Ave. in Arlington. It's a little bit of a fixer-upper, but it's in good structural shape and has a lot of potential.

September 2004
The fifth year of our hike was supposed to be our last, but we were enjoying ourselves so much that we decided to save some for next year. And also, my knees gave out.

snow and ice The Long Trail: Part 4
October 2003
The fourth leg of our hike on the Long Trail was the most challenging, as we made it over Camel's Hump and Mt Mansfield in snow, ice and wind.
