The rain screen is made from reclaimed lumber from shipping pallets. When you step up to it you see that it is beautifully finished.

Reclaimed copper sheats cover part of the exterior - a very nice color and texture.

The main living space inside had a beautiful quality of light, and a thoughtful treatment of the walls and ceiling.

There is a gradual transition between interior and exterior spaces.

The wood panelled door slides away to open or protect this circulation space.

From the end of the house, you can see their water tanks stored behind the ladder used for roof access. A solar "dish" on the roof captures sunlight for interior lighting.

The planters around the back of house were designed by UVA students and use the runoff water from the house.
