This is the Carnegie Mellon house. Their website is at www.arc.cmu.edu/carnegie_team View of the canopy over the back deck. Those are the PV solar panels on the left and pieces of salvaged wood on the right acting as sun shading. Transom windows over the doors permit natural ventilation.

The walls are plastered with recycled copies of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. Raised floor with cabling beneath, ala the Intelligent Workplace. And I believe that's a bamboo floor... a rapidly renewable resource.
