| This residence’s solar electric system is grid-tied and is subject to annual net-metering with 2 days of emergency battery storage. The solar thermal system is capable of providing all required heating and domestic hot water on a typical day. Other energy saving measures include super insulation, a heat recovery ventilator and R-8 fi berglass windows. Solar Design Associates was the supplier for the solar electric and solar thermal components. Responsibilities included product research and ordering the solar roof kit materials to be shipped to the project site. |

| The project consists of a complex of five buildings, three residential buildings (independent and assisted living units) surrounding and linked to a central commons building and a fitness center. Entering the project before bid documents were due, I helped to complete CD’s with a 5-person team, after which I was the only team member selected to remain on for value engineering changes, millwork and tile mural designs, fitness center design from schematic through construction. I also acted as assistant to the project manager for the construction administration, including preparing ASI’s, sketches and reviewing shop drawings. |
