My office is hosting an exhibit opening and reception next Thursday, March 4th. I've been planning this thing since November, and it's now all coming together!

TruexCullins is teaming up with Conant Metal & Light for a lighting show that looks at the art and science of light today. The incandescent bulb is being phased out in just two years, and the lighting industry is moving full speed ahead, with tremendous advances in LEDs and new fixtures that are more efficient than ever.

This show is going to be brilliant! We have a lot of vendors lined up and some really beautiful fixtures to display. Please come... Thursday, March 4th, from 5 to 8pm at our offices at 209 Battery Street in Burlington.

For more info about the event, jump over to this TruexCullins blog post to read all about it.

Happy heart-day. Got a couple more photos of Tegan up today. We're hitting some big milestones: sitting up, eating food, and playing cards.

Have you seen the new TruexCullins Blog? Soon after the launch of the new website earlier this year, my trusty employer followed up with the official company blog. (And yes, there's a facebook page, too.) The blog actually is a good way for visitors to find out about what's happening in the wonderful world of Truex, and it has given us a vehicle to post timely information, quickly.

My latest post was written last week for the NEIRA conference. Ten Tips to Improve your Inn or Resort is a piece I wrote that is directed toward owners of small-to-medium sized inns, resorts, and bed-and-breakfasts. This article is a product of the TruexCullins Resort Studio.

The (funky) Office of the Future is a short reflection on the trend of whimsically-designed office spaces, spurred by a New York Post article that features offices with kiddie slides. This is the first post of hopefully many from the TruexCullins Workplace Studio.

Most of the leaves have now fallen, and Anna had a swell time this afternoon jumping in the piles.

Ahh, to be five... Here are some more photos of the fun and frolic.

Child # 2 is not getting nearly as much camera time as Child #1 did. We try to keep up to the standard we set the first time around, but with a kindergartener in the house, our energy tends to go towards maintaining the daily routine. And taking good photos of a six-week old infant is really a two-person job: one to hold the baby and the other to shoot the camera. For the short amount of time that we're both home, the second person is always either getting Anna out of bed, getting Anna off to school, making a meal, or getting Anna ready for bed.

All of this is to explain the lag in the Tegan photos. But since it's been a few weeks, I looked thru the memory card and posted a few new ones.

Last weekend, I also took some shots of the local foliage. Here's some nice color in front of our house:

Everyone is noticing how Tegan looks so much like Anna did when she was born. It's true. Here's the proof:

Anna (left); Tegan (right)

We've also added a page for Tegan's photos.. not wanting her to feel left out, since we did the same for Anna. Check back often to watch Tegan grow.

Welcome to the world, Tegan Rose Bushey! On Thursday night at 8:09pm, our baby daughter surprised us all by arriving a day before we expected. She's a healthy baby girl, weighing in at 9 lbs, 13 oz., and measuring 21" long. We're all home from the hospital now and mother and daughter are doing great. Anna loves her new baby sister, and Bruno has been behaving well also. (Well, except for that one incident when he chewed Tegan's favorite pacifier.)

We think she looks a lot like Anna did as a baby, with her thick dark hair, deep blue eyes, and round baby face. Here are some photos from the first 24 hours of her life:

Anna had a terrific first day of kindergarten. We're lucky to live so close that we can join the other families in the neighborhood and walk to school every morning. We cross the street by our house (with the help of Bob the Crossing Guard) and take the shortcut which leads down to Pine Street. It's about a 12 minute walk, and Anna's already looking forward to taking her bike.

This morning, all the kids and their parents gathered outside in front of the school, and at 8:10 the teachers welcomed everyone to the new school year. The kids lined up by their teachers and marched off to their classrooms.
